U.S.S. Bausell Association Application

With the dedication and support of your fellow Association crewmembers, we welcome you aboard the official U.S.S. Bausell web site. I'm sure like all of us, you had some good times on the Bausell, visited some great ports and have fond recollections of the friends you made while on the Mighty "B". Since 1995, we have been bringing those friends back together again, in cities around the USA, with a reunion every (2) years. So, we encourage you to drop anchor and muster with us for our next reunion of laughter, memories and swapping sea stories with old and new friends.

The purpose and goals of the Bausell Association are: to preserve the memory and history of Corporal Lewis K. Bausell and our fine ship; to make reasonable efforts to locate all ship's personnel that have yet to be contacted and inform them of our organization; and to be a focal point so ex-crewmembers may keep in touch with one another by newsletters, phone calls or at biannual reunions.

Our organization is open to any and all who served at any time in any capacity with U.S.S. Bausell. To join the Association there is a one-time initial membership fee of $10, and dues of $10 for each succeeding calendar year. Payment of the initial fee will pay advanced deposits and other related fees on reunion events and activities. After each reunion, any refunded deposits will be redeposit into the account to serve as funds for the next reunion, and so on. The annual dues will be used to cover on-going costs, such as postage, photocopies, and office supplies. This will ensure that you receive the official Bausell newsletter (FLANK SPEED) and updated rosters.

A new member packet along with memorabilia will be sent once your application is processed. Plus, you will receive an Association directory with hundreds of the Bausell crew that we have located. As our organization continues to grow, I can promise you that this web site, like our reunions, will only get better. Until we salute each other at our next reunion, take care and smooth sailing.

Sincerely,

Kenny Pitman, President
